1.        Preparation of raw materials and other materials

All raw-materials and other materials necessary for steel liquid production  before they are charging into the Electric furnace, first of all they have to be prepared. This especially refers to the scrap, which, as a basic raw-material with the highest quantitative participation, has to be separated (aggregated), before charging into the Electric furnace, out of all undesirable materials, to be cut in appropriate dimensions and to fill it correctly in baskets and to be measured, as well.

Main charateristic of the equipment:
Electric-magnet cranes with capacity of 30/10 tones charging baskets with scrap in volume of 94m3. Electro-mechanical and mechanical scales with capacity of 80-130-200t.

2.        Scrap melting in the electric-arc furnace

The scrap and other required materials are to charge in the Electric furnace whereas their melting is carried out by means of electrical energy, chemical energy and liquid steel transformation.

Main technical characteristics of the equipment; charging cranes with capacity of 160t/40t/10t.

Electric – arc furnace:

  made by Birlik – England-nominal capacity 130t.

  Start-up of production 1972

Made modification 1990 by the company “Clecim”

Annual capacity of the Electric furnace 300 000 t.

Weight of heat: 110 t/liquid metal

  Transformer power: 50/60 MVA

Diameter of electric furnace hearth: 6700mm

  Built-in Techint technology with implementation
of lance injection of (O2, CH4 and Anthracite). 600nm3/h, 16nm3/T, 15kg/T

3.        Treatment of liquid steel in ladle furnace

Proceeding the realization of a customer’s specification, the ladle furnace makes the correction of the liquid steel temperature and final adjustment of the chemical composition.

Technical  characteristics of the equipment:

   Transformer 21MVA

Argon station for blowing argon in the casting ladle with a lance from the top through the bottom.

Machine for inserting aluminium and calcium silicium

4.         Continuous casting machines

Cont casting of liquid steel and its transformation into cont cast slab (cont. strand).

Hardening and moulding of the steel and forming of cont slabs-strands has been made by regulating the discharge of liquid steel out of a casting ladle, through a tundish in the mould and walking beams water cooled.

Main characteristics of technical equipment:

Continuous casting line start up: 1981

  Supplier of the equipment: Uralmash

Machine no.: 3 per one strand

Type of machines: Radial curvilinear R10000

Capacity:  850000 t/year

Slab cross-section:  width  900-1550mmthickness  175-250mm

5.       Processing and transport of cont cast slabs

After going out of the cont strand out of the continuous casting machine are to be performed:

Cutting of cont strand along the planned length as per the order/specification and obtaining of primary slabs

Transport and processing of primary slabs:

Flame gouging, check if there are some defects on the surface and if necessary cutting to secondary slabs.

Equipment:

3 Machines for gas cutting of slabs

Dogging and magnet cranes and transportation carriages.
